Clovers get first win against West Vigo

WEST TERRE HAUTE -- The Cloverdale volleyball team won its first game of the season on Thursday, beating host West Vigo 25-23, 25-17, 25-20.

The win moves the Clovers' record to 1-4 this year.

"We played well tonight and it was good to get a win," CHS coach Kathy Moore said. "It was a team win with everyone contributing. We look to our next match at Turkey Run next Tuesday.

"The long weekend will give us some rest before very full September schedule."

Senior Lindsay Robson led the team with 28 digs and tied junior Jessica Winders for the lead with seven points.

Beka Jordan had eight kills and Winders had 10 assists.

Cloverdale plays at Turkey Run at 7:30 p.m.
