The accident scene at Walnut and Spring streets Tuesday afternoon.

An accident Tuesday afternoon resulted in one woman being transported to Putnam County Hospital.

The Greencastle City Police Department responded to the call at 12:06 p.m. Upon arrival, investigating officers Darrel Bunten and Ed Wilson were informed that Heather Linton, 43, Brazil, was traveling eastbound on Walnut Street in a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander.

Wilson stated that Linton had come to a complete stop before proceeding into the intersection.

As Linton proceeded into the intersection, Macy A. Fordice, 27, Greencastle, was traveling southbound on Spring Street in a 1997 Ford F350 when he failed to see a stopsign at the Walnut Street intersection, resulting in a collision that damaged the front end of Linton's car.

As a result, the passenger in Linton's vehicle, Sandy Kauble, 70, Greencastle, was transported via Operation Life ambulance to Putnam County Hospital with complaints of pain to the left foot, right hand and wrist.

Damage was estimated at $3,000-$5,000.

Fordice was cited at the scene for driving on a suspended license and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Also assisting at the scene was the Greencastle Fire Department.
