Young Eagle Week

Proclaiming the week of Sept. 2-8 Young Eagle Week to accompany the annual Airport Appreciation Days effort of Sept. 7-8, Greencastle Mayor Sue Murray signs a proclamation at City Hall Thursday as Jack Sutton of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) looks on. The proclamation notes that the annual goal of the program is the introduction of 100,000 young people to the Young Eagles experience. As in years past, EAA Chapter 1374 will be offering Young Eagle airplane rides to youth from age eight to 17 at the Putnam County Airport event. Rides will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. EAA member pilots volunteer their time and aircraft to make such flights possible.
