Earth, Environment and Time

Thursday, September 5, 2013

Classes at Fillmore Elementary went on a trip around the globe on Thursday, and all they had to do was go to the gymnasium. The PTO at Fillmore Elementary sponsored a program from Mobile Ed Productions called Earth Dome. Earth Dome helps to teach children how the world is on a geological level. The Earth Dome is an inflatable globe that stands 19 feet high and 22 feet across. Dave Killion (above) goes to different schools to teach about world geography, time zones and environments. Fillmore fourth-graders sat and listened to Killion talk about plate tectonics during one of the many presentations on Thursday.
