Dentistry from the Heart

Friday, September 6, 2013

One of more than 50 local residents taking advantage of a free dental care day receives a filling Friday as Dr. Dennis Knuth and assistant Rita Latham work on her at his Greencastle Hometown Dental practice. The local dentist, four assistants and two hygienists saw 55 area residents as part of the free "Dentistry from the Heart" program between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday. Eighteen people received free dental cleanings, while another 37 required fillings or extractions during the inaugural effort at Greencastle Hometown Dental, 1113 Indianapolis Rd. Dr. Knuth said his goal was to see 40 people on the day but there was a line at the front door, waiting for the office to open Friday morning with some people having been in line since 4 a.m. for the free service.
