Cringing as the needle penetrates her arm, Marge Buehler, Cloverdale, gets a flu shot Tuesday morning during the annual Putnam County Senior Health Fair at the Community Building on the fairgrounds. Stephanie Purdue of Indiana Home Care Plus in Greencastle administers the injection. An assortment of vendors presented information about needs of senior citizens regarding health, assisted living options, home care and hospice, as well as financial, legal, safety and others.
On hand at the Putnam County Senior Health Fair Tuesday, Putnam County Clerk Marty Watts (left) and Heather Gilbert help Patricia Strong of Fillmore fill out her voter registration information. Strong, who was born and raised in Greencastle, has moved back to Putnam County after living in Maryland. While the Clerk's Office registered just a handful of voters at the fairgrounds Tuesday, officials were able to verify voter information and offer details about areas of representation and what to expect on the ballot next year with 2013 being an off-year for elections.
