Sunshine & Roses

Wednesday, September 11, 2013
Approximately 11,000 roses changed hands in Greencastle Wednesday morning as part of the annual Friendship Day event sponsored by Eitel's Florist, the Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce and a number of other local businesses. Outside the Chamber office, Angie Barcus (above, left) made a brief stop to pick up a dozen roses, where Executive Director Tammy Johnson waited with several boxes of roses as well as donation bins for the Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry. Elsewhere, Sara Morris (below, left) visited At Home Realty to get her dozen roses from Beth Hurley and Tyler Cox. The roses were free with the stipulation that participants give away 11 of the 12 roses they received.
