Clovers rally, win in five at Owen Valley

SPENCER -- After trailing two sets to none at Owen Valley, the Cloverdale volleyball team battled back to get a win 14-25, 17-25, 26-24, 25-20, 15-12 on Tuesday.

The win bumped the Clovers' record up to 3-6 (0-1 WCC) for the season with the county tournament looming on Saturday. Facing the two-set deficit, the Clovers were lifted up by their defense.

Lindsay Robson, Kimmy Winders and Jessica Winders combined for 52 digs in the match. Cloverdale also had nine aces. Jessica Winders had 19 set assists.

The Clovers open the Putnam County Tournament against Greencastle. The matches begin at North Putnam at 9 a.m.
