The Cloverdale girls' golf team finished at 210, a solid score that put it in second place at a four-team meet at Deer Creek on Thursday.

Harlee Fuetter, 50, and MaKayla Moore, 51, led the Clovers.

"The Girls stepped up in a big way tonight on a tough course," CHS coach Matthew Langdon said. "We really wanted to come in tonight and shoot a good score on the course we will se Saturday at conference.

"The girls have worked hard this year to improve their games and to be able to be competitive at conference and county."

The round of 210 was one stroke behind the Clovers' best score of the season.

Anna Spencer, 54, Izzy Wardlow, 55, and Abbie Speas, 61, each carded for CHS.

Winning the match was Owen Valley, which finished at 200. Monrovia was third at 216 and had the medalist, Meredith Knieper, who finished at 43 on her home course.

Cascade rounded out the field with a 224.

Cloverdale plays at the WCC Tournament on Saturday at 11 a.m.
