Union Chapel fish fry to host The Crimson Cross Quartet

Union Chapel United Methodist Church will host its annual fish fry on Saturday, Sept. 14, with serving from 4-8 p.m.

The congregation and the community always look forward to the fish fry, which provides an opportunity for families, friends, neighbors and passersby to spend an evening together for food, fellowship, fun, special music and lots of reminiscing, while children can enjoy the playground that's adjacent to the shelter house.

In addition to fish, the menu will include hot dogs, barbecue, a variety of side dishes and desserts and drinks. A free will donation will be accepted, with proceeds from the event used for community outreach projects.

This year's musical entertainment will feature The Crimson Cross Quartet. Founded in 2003, the quartet is a group of Christian artists brought together by God, to do His work in a southern gospel music ministry.

Ministering love and singing praises to the Lord, The Crimson Cross Quartet shares its musical gifts from God in a tight blend of southern gospel harmony. The group has been extremely blessed in a relatively short time, being given the opportunity to open for some of the best-known groups in southern gospel music today.

Re-formed in the beginning of 2013, original members Jeff Bridgewater and Gerald Meeks are joined by lead singer Josh McCluskey and tenor Travis Bridgewater. Together, the newly formed quartet continues to follow God's plan and direction in its musical ministry and remain dedicated to serve where it is led.

Union Chapel is located on U.S. 36, one mile west of Morton (or four miles west of U.S. 231). Pastor Johnny O'Neal and the congregation invite everyone to enjoy the fish fry with them on Saturday.
