Cougars storm to 3-1 win over Mustangs

ROACHDALE -- The North Putnam girls' soccer team beat visiting Edgewood 3-1 on Saturday.

Freshmen Christa McRoy, Kaelynn Abner and Emilee Henninger each scored a goal. Abner, Henninger and senior Rebecca Booth each had an assist.

"The team play and the passing was phenomenal today," NPHS coach Willie Gaskins said. "We worked as a team to get the ball up the field and take it into the attacking third. We as a team are really coming together and playing as one unit on the field."

The Cougars have a conference game at Monrovia on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
