Car Seat Clinic

Thursday, September 19, 2013
The Greencastle Police Department kicked off National Child Passenger Safety Week with its annual Seat Check Safety Day on Tuesday evening. Dozens of Putnam County residents showed up to take advantage of a free car seat check program at the Putnam County Hospital. Greencastle Police Department car seat technician Darcy Hendershot led the three-hour program, which also included certified technicians Greencastle Police Chief Tom Sutherlin (left), Capt. Chris Jones, Nicole Christlieb of the Greencastle Housing Authority and Alia Shuck of the Putnam County Tobacco Cessation Program. The police department conducts the car seat clinic annually as part of the Permanent Fitting Station requirements, which mandate one car seat clinic per year. Dawson Mason receives a new car seat after being fitted by Sutherlin during the event.
