Brenda Kay Kendall, 62, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013.

Born Jan. 9, 1951 in Sumner County, Tenn., she was the daughter of Clarence Bethel and Margaret Eugenia (Pryor) Hodges and was a 1969 graduate of Fillmore High School.

Brenda had managed Roy Huff Florist in Chicago for several years. She was a member of Cat's Haven and was actively caring for feral cats around her residence.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Willard "Will" Kendall, whom she married on Jan. 24, 1972. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Davis; a brother, Danny Hodges; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Brenda Kendall; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Paul Thomas and Bethel Eugene Hodges; brother-in-law Stephen Kendall; and nephew Benson Kendall.

A celebration of life for Brenda will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at Robe-Ann Park.
