Many people make Senior Fair success possible

To the Editor:

The Putnam County Senior Fair was a great success thanks to many businesses and people; it truly does "take a village" to produce a great Senior Fair.

First of all, thanks to our sponsors -- Dave's Heating and Cooling, Metronet, McDonald's, Endeavor Communications and Margaret Bruner - who each helped provide funding for basic costs like advertising and rental fees. Without you, our fair couldn't have been as successful.

Thanks also to our vendors: Autumn Glen, Attorney Michael Goss, Care One Home Health, Putnam County Hospital, Comfort Keepers, Hearing Care Professionals, HBG Insurance, Asbury Towers, Veterans' Care Advocates, Golden Age Planning Services, The Lane House, Merle Norman, Beltone Hearing Center, Ivy Trace Catered Living, North Salem State Bank, WICAA Senior Programs, New Hope Hospice, Preferred Home Health, Inc., Hayes, Murphy, Sharp and Brackney Insurance, Mill Pond, Bittles and Hurt/Hopkins-Rector funeral homes, Horizon Hospice, Putnam County Republicans, The Waters, Endeavor Communications, Dusk to Dawn Bereavement Services, Exceptional Living Center, Intrepid USA Health Care, United Healthcare Medicare Solutions, Hickory Creek at Sunset, Global Medical, Gentiva Hospice and Indiana Home Care Plus.

Through your support and wonderful booths, pertinent information of all types was readily available for seniors.

Special appreciation goes to The Banner Graphic for continued support with publicity, Jeff Rich for his talents and sense of humor, the John Wood Trio for their lovely music, the Sheriff's Department for their continued assistance, and to the Indiana Homecare Plus staff for being such excellent flu shot providers throughout the fair.

Bingo was certainly a highlight of the day thanks to Final Approach, Almost Home, Kroger, Monical's, McDonald's and Wal-Mart for their donations of prizes.

And in conclusion, thank you to each person who attended, volunteered, visited the vendors, played bingo, enjoyed the music, had lunch with us, and participated in the drawings. Because of each of you, it was an awesome day.
