County Jail

At 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Melissa Hargis-McClulough, 42, Cloverdale, was booked into the Putnam County Jail for violation of home detention.

Sheriff's Department

At 11:32 a.m. on Sunday, Gavin R. Stone, 48, Spokane, Wash., was westbound on Interstate 70 near the 40-mile marker in a 2007 Peterbilt semi.

Stone told Sgt. Jon Chadd that a 2011 Hyundai Sonata driven by A Yom, 30, Indianapolis, nearly stopped in traffic and was trying to pull into the emergency vehicle turnaround.

Stone braked and steered to the left, but could not avoid the collision.

Yom told Chadd he tried to change lanes and pull into the turnaround because his baby needed a break. Yom said he did not see the tractor-trailer.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.
