Greencastle Custom Cycle block party set for Saturday
In celebration of the shop's anniversary, Greencastle Custom Cycle will host a block party on Saturday, Oct. 5.
The Halloween-themed party will run from 3-11 p.m. at the cycle shop at 100 N. Indiana St., and festivities will include a chili cook off, a motorcycle burnout contest, a tattoo artist, a costumed ride through town and two live bands.
There is no cost to attend or to enter either contest, but it will be $5 for chili.
Additionally, there will be $100 prizes for the winners of each of the two contests.
"It's about fun. It's not about money," owner Scott Eaton said.
"This year, it's about giving back," wife and co-owner Lisa Eaton added.
Columbia Street will be blocked between Jackson and Franklin streets, giving partygoers plenty of room to share in the merriment.
The Eatons are partnering with a number of other sponsors to put on the event, including Baker's Body Shop, the Putnam County Senior Center, John Stanley of 3D Tire & Service and Mike and Becky Bower.
They also wished the thank the City of Greencastle for its cooperation, including the Greencastle Police officers who will serve as chili judges.
The live music of the evening will be provided by Redzilla and Wing-nuts. Any other performers interested in taking part may contact Eaton at 653-8974.
Most of all, the Eatons just want to see their friends and the community to have a fun time on a fall evening.
"I'd like to see it a big blowout, a lot of fun," he said.
"We would love for the community to come party with us," Lisa said.
