October 'United We Dine' promotion to aid United Way

During the month of October, participating local restaurants will pledge a percentage of one-day's sales to the United Way of Putnam County in a "United We Dine" promotion.

"We are excited to announce that October is 'United We Dine' month where area restaurants have selected to pledge a portion of their sales to our United Way here in Putnam County," Jennifer Edwards, executive director of the United Way of Putnam County, said.

"This is a different way for community members to support our organization," she added in announcing the participants.

Dining with the following local restaurants on their selected day will support the United Way organization, and thus the Putnam County community:

Oct. 1 -- Charlie's, 424 Bloomington St., Greencastle, 15 percent pledged.

Oct. 2 -- The Putnam Inn, 400 N. Jackson St., Greencastle, 10 percent pledged.

Oct. 8 -- McDonald's, 1033 N. Main St., Cloverdale, or 940 Indianapolis Rd., Greencastle, 10 percent pledged.

Oct. 9 -- Chief's, 5 E. Franklin St., Greencastle, 10 percent pledged.

Oct. 10 -- Monical's Pizza, 29 Putnam Plaza, Greencastle, 20 percent pledged.

Oct. 17 -- Almost Home, 17 W. Franklin St., Greencastle, 10 percent pledged.

Oct. 22 -- 2 West Bistro in the Inn at DePauw, 2 W. Seminary St., Greencastle, 10 percent pledged.

Oct. 29 -- Moore's Bar, 17 S. Indiana St., Greencastle, 10 percent pledged.
