Courthouse workers are wearing jeans for a good cause

Wednesday, October 2, 2013

For the month of October, the Putnam County Commissioners have given courthouse workers permission to wear jeans to work -- all for a good cause.

The denim decision is part of an October food drive, organized by Tracy Bridges victims assistance director in the Prosecutor's Office, to benefit the Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry.

Courthouse employees may wear jeans as long as they donate either one canned good or 50 cents for each day of casual wear this month.

Each office will serve as a collection point for the canned food and donations. Visitors to the courthouse are urged to contribute as well.

For more information on the Food Pantry, persons may contact Director Judy Miller at 765-301-4431.

The Food Pantry, located at 620 Tennessee St., Greencastle, is open 9 a.m. to noon each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
