Monday, October 7, 2013

All survivors of breast cancer and family members of breast cancer patients or survivors are invited to attend the annual "Breast Cancer Awareness Game" between the Greencastle and South Putnam high school volleyball teams.

The annual "Pink Game" will be played at GHS on Thursday, Oct. 10 with the junior varsity game starting at 6 p.m. and the varsity volleyball contest following at about 7 p.m.

All survivors and family members will be recognized at the game in observance of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The GHS volleyball team has been raising money through T-shirt sales with more than $300 received thus far. T-shirt sales and a bake sale will continue at the game Thursday night.

The money raised will be donated to the Mammography Department at Putnam County Hospital to help underwrite the cost of mammograms for local women who might not be able to afford one.
