State Senator Tomes to speak to Defenders of Liberty

Indiana State Sen. Jim Tomes (R-Evansville) will be the featured speaker at the Monday, Oct. 14 meeting of the Greencastle Defenders of Liberty.

A staunch supporter of the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, Tomes is director of the Second Amendment Patriots in Evansville. He will not only be speaking on gun rights, but will cover the invasion of government and private drones on privacy.

Tomes was elected to the Senate in 2010, after retiring as a truck driver for 33 years and a union steward for 21 years. Married to Margie for 43 years, they have three grown children and four grandchildren.

Sen. Tomes served in the U. S. Army and was in the 101st Airborne in Vietnam.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Putnam County Airport Dixie Chopper Business Center, 102 Ballard Lane. The public is invited to all monthly meetings of the Defenders of Liberty.
