ROACHDALE -- At this month's Roachdale town meeting it was announced that the funds from an OCRA (Office of Community and Rural Affairs) grant that the town applied for last year.

Earlier this month the town of Roachdale accepted an OCRA grant of $500,000. This grant will be used to fund a water project for the town. The next step for the town is to get bids on the project. More information on this project will be given as information becomes available.

Roachdale has also been working on removing tree stumps around the town. So far 18 have been removed, but another 16 still need to extracted. Utility workers are unable to remove the remaining stumps, so the project will be put out to bid.

The town council also approved the request of a property owner for the town to pay half the cost, $300, of a tree removal.

Town Marshal Mike Mahoy updated the council on the need to repair, replace and get new signs. The signs that need updating are several stop signs in town and also there is a need for speed limit signs in several areas of town.

The council decided to allow Mahoy to replace and have the signs redone as needed.

During the meeting Tammy Folck who has been working on the Roachdale Park infor-med those present that things around the park were being finished up for the winter months. She also apologized for the cancellation of the ribbon cutting last Saturday due to weather.

The council has set hours for Halloween on Thursday, Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m.

The next Roachdale Town Council meeting will be held on Nov. 12 at 6 p.m.
