Pauline Victoria Majors

Pauline Victoria Majors, 84, of Roachdale, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013.

She was born on May 27, 1929 in Yadkin County, N.C., to William Sully Swaim and A. Victoria Turner Swaim.

Pauline married James McDonald Majors on Dec. 3, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2013 after 66 years of marriage.

Mrs. Majors was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Bobby M. Majors Jr.; siblings Mamie, Flora, Addie, Mortie, Beulah, Bessie, Nellie and William; two great-grandchildren, Isabella Grace Majors and Kerian Flannigan; and a son-in-law, Jerry Minter.

Surviving are her children, Bill "Larry" Majors and wife Bonnie of Roachdale, Bobby Majors and wife Sandy of Petersburg, Paulette Thornburg of Franklin, Sandy Majors of Bainbridge, Mike Majors and wife Brenda of Roachdale, Debbie Pullen of Roachdale, Steve Majors and wife Tamara of New Castle, Lynn Minter of Roachdale, and Robin Dawson and husband John of Roachdale; 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Rich Fuller officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.

Pauline treasured her grandbabies and her family. She enjoyed quilting and watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon. Gardening came naturally, as she could grow a rose from a thorn.
