Nationally known speaker set to educate nonprofits Nov. 11

Dave Sternberg

The last workshop in the 2013 Nonprofit Learning Series, sponsored by the Putnam County Community Foundation and the Montgomery County Community Foundation, is titled "Powerful Boards, Purposeful Fundraising."

The workshop will take place on Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and at the Crawfordsville Country Club.

Cost of the workshop is $15 if registered and paid by Nov. 4, or $25 at the door.

Workshop facilitator Dave Sternberg, a nationally known speaker, is the author of the second edition of "Fearless Fundraising for Nonprofit Boards," which is among the best sellers offered by BoardSource.

He is a member of the faculty at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University's Fundraising School and a senior governance consultant for BoardSource.

Sternberg will address how an organization that thinks it has a fundraising problem may actually have a "structure" problem.

During the workshop, attendees will learn how to solve this "structure" problem, and potentially never have to deal with it again. He will also discuss how to recruit and orient board members, create accountability and ensure that you have the best governing structure for all time.

The Nonprofit Learning Series is designed to enrich and advance nonprofit associations, organizations, churches and units of government. The cost includes the workshop, a catered lunch and all workshop materials.
