The Greencastle League of Women Voters will host a public discussion of the recent Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) decision on the Voting Rights Act.

The case in question is Shelby County, Alabama v. Holder. The discussion will include states' reaction to the decision.

Scheduled for Monday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Peeler Center auditorium on DePauw University's campus, the LWV discussion will be led by Monica Fennell, pro bono manager for Faegre Baker Daniels, and a former SCOTUS fellow, along with David Gellman, DePauw University professor of history.

Focusing on the decision, history and aftermath, a short informational video will be part of the event.

There will be time for discussion with the audience after the presentation.

The meeting is open to the public and all members of the community are encouraged to attend.
