Robert Lee Lamb, 87, of Coatesville, passed away on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013.

Born July 4, 1926 in Tuscola, Ill., he was the son of James Reuben and Leone (Frazier) Lamb of Tuscola.

He was a graduate of Tuscola High School and attended the DeVry Institute.

He married Marlene (Shields) Lamb, and she survives.

Robert was a superintendent at the IUPUI Physical Plant, retiring in July 1989.

He had previously owned and operated Tuscola Sheet Metal and Plumbing with his brother in Tuscola. After retirement he worked with Burns Security and had been a real estate salesman.

He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Tuscola and New Life Baptist Church, Greencastle.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene; children Robert J. (Kasey) Lamb of Avon, Jonathan R. "Randy" (Lori) Lamb of Coatesville, Melissa J. (Donnie) Spencer of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and James Richard Ryan Lamb of Coatesville; nine grandchildren, Jacob and Noah Lamb, Ashlie, Tyler, Joshua and Brandon Lamb, A.J. and Gabby Spencer and LiliAnn Lamb; two nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ernest Lamb of Decatur, Ill., and James Richard Lamb of Tuscola, Ill.; and a niece, Sandy Burrous.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at New Life Baptist Church, 51 Ridgeway St., Greencastle, with Rev. Dr. Michael Wren and Rev. Hallie Taylor officiating.

Interment will follow at the Brownsburg Cemetery in Brownsburg.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at the church.
