Pumpkin Panorama

With Halloween almost at hand, students at Fillmore Elementary School are conducting a pumpkin-decorating contest in which penny votes are cast for the best-decorated pumpkin on display in the hallway outside the main office. A few of the more unique entries include (above, from left) The Cat in the Hat, submitted by Trenton Piersall; The Tin Man, created by Hope Taylor; Stuart Little, decorated by Matthew Goodpaster; a little caterpillar, done by Isabelle Cafouras; and (below) Mike from "Monsters Inc.," displayed by Faith Wiggins. Money raised by the contest will go to a student activities fund.

Mike Wazowski of "Monsters, Inc." made an appearance at the Fillmore Elementary School.
