Thursday, October 31, 2013

CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale High School FFA, Cloverdale Student Council, South Putnam Student Council, South Putnam FFA and North Putnam FFA are teaming up again to host a Christmas Toy Drive.

They are currently collecting donations of new or gently used toys, books, new hats and gloves to provide for area children.

Donations will be collected until Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Any donations can be dropped off at the Cloverdale, South Putnam or North Putnam high schools, as well as various drop-off sites in the community. The schools are also collecting cash donations, which will be used to purchase new toys as well as hats and gloves.

The toy drive giveaway will be on Thursday, Dec. 5 at Cloverdale High School from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The goal is to have two gifts, a hat, a pair of gloves and two books per child depending on donation amounts. To receive these items individuals are asked to bring a Health Wise card or tax return that shows the children listed as dependents.

Last year the Cloverdale Toy Drive served 488 children and is expected to reach 500 children this year.
