County Jail

Several people have been booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, Chelseii Eden Reynolds, 24, Crawfordsville, was arrested for theft and probation violation.

* At 9:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Chelsea Rose Gallagher, 22, Greencastle, was charged with possession of a device interfering with a drug screening and parole violation.

At 10:29 a.m. William Troy Clark, 45, Avon, was held at the jail for violation of home detention.

At 4:06 p.m. Zikimo Nathan Jones, 36, Warren, Mich., was booked in for dealing in a schedule drug.

* At 4:30 a.m. Taylor Scott Wayer, 22, Bloomington, was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

City Police

Two recent property-damage accidents were investigated by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 5:18 p.m. Wednesday, a one-car accident reportedly occurred on County Road 25 North as Fillmore Town Marshal Darrel Bunten, 38, Fillmore, was in pursuit of a suspect vehicle.

Sgt. Terry Eastham said Bunten lost control of the Fillmore police car on the wet pavement, and the 2004 Ford Crown Victoria slid off the roadway, damaging the left rear corner and undercarriage.

Total damage was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.

The suspect vehicle, not described in the police report, was not located.

-- At 3:35 p.m. Wednesday, a minor mishap was reported in the parking lot off Vine Street as Sarah Osborn, 85, Fillmore, attempted to back a 1997 Dodge Ram pickup from a parking space.

The truck struck a parked 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, owned by Keith Archer, Greencastle, Officer Albert Epple reported.

Total damage was listed at $1,000-$2,500.

One recent citation was written by city officers.

-- At 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Tracey Osburne, 40, Greencastle, was ticketed on Shadowlawn Avenue and the entrance to Deer Meadow School by Officer Matt Huffman for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

Sheriff's Department

* At 5:03 a.m. on Monday, Bruce W. Schlehuser, 57, Putnamville, was westbound on U.S. 40 in a 1992 Buick Riviera when he apparently fell asleep.

Schlehuser told Deputy Josh Boller he was on his way home from work.

The vehicle left the road and hit the ditch, causing it to flip several times and land on its top.

Schlehuser had facial injuries and was taken to Putnam County Hospital by Operation Life.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.

* At 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Brenda J. Plano, 59, Knightsville, was northbound on County Road 375 West in a 1999 Mazda G26.

Her car failed to make a corner and left the right side of the road, hitting a Verizon box.

Plano told Deputy T.J. Smith her tire went off the shoulder and she was unable to get back on the road.

Damage was listed at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Darla R. Sullivan, 49, Brazil, was eastbound on U.S. 40 around County Road 900 West in a 2007 Toyota Camry when a deer entered the road.

The animal hit the driver's side on the hood and caused damage to the rear bumper.

Deputy Matt Biggs estimated damage at $1,001-$5,000.

* At 7:33 a.m. on Wednesday, Sherrie R. Lance, 50, Coatesville, was southbound on County Road 775 East in a 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue.

Lance told Deputy Ronnie Campbell she tried to make a 90-degree turn onto County Road 250 North and slid straight into the ditch because of wet pavement.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.
