Robert 'Bob' Berlin Hudson

Robert "Bob" Berlin Hudson of Poland passed away at IU Health-Bloomington Hospital on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at the age of 85.

Bob was born in Madison County, Ind., on May 12, 1928 to Edward C. and Mary Hanna (Hewitt) Hudson.

Bob proudly served in the Indiana National Guard for 14 years.

He was the owner of Bob's Trash 'n Jewels in Poland and was a driver for a propane company until his retirement with 15 years of service.

Bob volunteered passing out food at the Cunot Community Center and enjoyed going to the casino, playing computer games and visiting with friends, family and everyone else, telling stories and jokes.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and VFW Post 1552 in Alexandria, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 47 years, Nancy (Osborn) Hudson (Oct. 4, 2012); son Rodney Allen Hudson; and eight siblings.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Kelley (Dean) of Ellettsville; stepson Mike Miller of Lafayette; grandchildren Jodie Hudson Young, Jesse Hudson, Levi Merchant, Rachell Kelley Davis and James Kelley; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville is assisting with Bob's arrangements.
