Charles Alan Lester

Charles Alan Lester, 64, Veedersburg, Ind., passed away on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at his residence.

He was born on Feb. 3, 1949 at Muncie, and was the son of Charles J. and Irma L. (Chipman) Lester.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Sue (Leisure) Lester, Veedersburg; his mother, Irma L. Richards, Greencastle; his children, Elana Vollmer-Bland and companion Tammy Bland, and Justin C. Lester and wife Jennifer; his stepchildren, Christopher Burdick, Marci Hartman, Jason Jacobs and Tony Jacobs; his grandchildren, Kiestyn Jones, Marlana Vollmer, Jessica Jacobs, Brett Jacobs, Vivian Jacobs, Claire Jacobs, Hannah Hartman, Drew, Hartman, Kyle Burdick and Nathan Burdick; and his aunts, Nellie Hayes and Virginia Chipman.

He was retired from the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gwin (Duncan) Lester; his father, Charles J. Lester; his stepfather, Henry Bryon Richards; his stepsister, Susan Richards, and stepbrother Stephen Richards.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 16 from noon until service time.

Interment will be in Cloverdale Cemetery with military honors.
