County Jail

One person was booked into the Putnam County Jail on Tuesday.

-- At 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Koltin Herron, 23, Camby, was arrested for probation violation.

City Police

Four recent speeding tickets were written by Greencastle City Police Officer Nick Eastham.

-- At 10:09 p.m. Saturday, Jacob Williams, 18, Reelsville, was cited for 53 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.

-- At 4:15 a.m. Saturday, Marroqueo Sandoval, 19, Richmond, Va., was cited by Officer Eastham for 51 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.

-- At 11:40 p.m. Friday, Aimee Vansickle, 38, Greencastle, was cited for 50 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.

-- At 8:17 p.m. Friday, Daniel Hasler, 55, Indianapolis, was cited by Officer Eastham for 50 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.

Sheriff's Department

At 10:18 a.m. on Saturday, Crystal F. Patton, 21, Greencastle, was westbound on County Road 200 South in a 1998 Oldsmobile Silhouette.

She told Reserve Deputy Kent Goldman that just past County Road 100 East, her engine lost power, causing her to lose power steering.

The vehicle then made a sharp right turn as she was crossing a bridge, hitting the bridge abutment.

The vehicle hit the abutment with the right front fender and bumper, causing major damage, including breaking off the right front axle. Both airbags deployed in the crash.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.
