McCloud to host winter bird feeder workshop

NORTH SALEM -- McCloud Nature Park will be hosting a free winter bird feeder workshop on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 2 p.m.

Participants are invited to make their own winter bird feeder to take home as well as learn about which seed mixes are best for each species and how to identify common winter birds of Indiana.

Different types of feeders will also be discussed along with options to help keep those squirrels out.

Registration is required for this workshop and can be done by calling the Hendricks County Parks and Recreation main office at 317-718-618.

This workshop is designed for all ages and will last about 90 minutes.

McCloud Nature Park, operated by Hendricks County Parks and Recreation, is located five minutes south of North Salem at 8518 N. Hughes Rd.

Admission is always free and the park is open from dawn to dusk daily.

The Nature Center's hours are Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
