Gobin to host annual cookie sale Dec. 7

Sunday, December 1, 2013
Customers of the Saturday, Dec. 7 Gobin UMC Holiday Cookie Sale, such as little Maura Lazar from last year's sale, will have hundreds and hundreds of cookies to choose from.

The 22nd annual Holiday Cookie Sale at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church is set for 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Customers will don a plastic glove and make their own selections from dozens of trays of delicious and colorful homemade cookies. They can choose the kind, number and size of the cookies to put in a decorated container.

Decorated containers of two sizes will be available for sale: a small container for $5 and a large container for $11.

The secret is to get there early for the best selection.

This year there will also be a cookie cookbook available for purchase featuring some delicious recipes.

To get to the cookie sale, use the Simpson Street entrance with the glass doors on the south side of the church building. The sale will be conducted in the church's basement. An elevette is available for those wishing to avoid the stairs.

While the sale is coordinated by the United Methodist Women, other church members play an important part in providing cookies and assisting with the sale.
