Catherine Marie Stewart

Catherine Marie Stewart, 83, of Greencastle, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 in Putnam County Hospital.

She was born Oct. 26, 1930 in Hendricks County, daughter of the late Oliver and Goldie (Highland) Finchum.

Catherine married Benjamin C. Stewart on Nov. 22, 1951 in North Salem. He survives.

Ben and Catherine were longtime residents of North Salem.

She was a former member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, North Salem.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her daughter, Belinda Kay (Steve) Witt; son Jeffrey Lynn (Penny) Stewart; grandchildren Angie, Tammy, Amber, Crystal, Amanda, Melissa, Jeremy and Ethan; siblings Marilyn, Don, Toot, Wendy, Larry, Trish and Dinie and18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by son Douglas Cleo Stewart and siblings Bud, Gloria Jean and Jim.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home, North Salem. Services will follow at 1 p.m.

Catherine will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery, North Salem.
