Roachdale Christmas celebration set for Friday night

ROACHDALE -- An "Old Fashioned Christmas In Roachdale" is slated for 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13.

The 6 p.m. Christmas parade will herald Santa's arrival in town.

The lighting of the Community Christmas Tree will take place at 6:30 p.m. with coloring contest winner Noah Claycomb, the son of Melissa Phillips Claycomb and Nick Claycomb, doing the honors.

The evening will also include performances of the North Putnam High School band and choir

Meanwhile, the Roachdale Fire Department will host Cookies and Canvas and Christmas crafts.

VFW will be serving food starting at 4 p.m. and Santa will pass out treat bags and take free pictures with the kids.

Vendors will be set up in North Meeting House.

Local merchants will have door prize drawings and specials throughout the night with free carriage rides available.
