Monday, December 30, 2013

Meetings of the Putnam County Commissioners and Putnam County Council will remain consistent in 2014, with the commissioners meeting twice a month on the first and third Monday and the council meeting on the third Tuesday.

As in recent years, the commissioners will convene for their first meeting of each month at 9 a.m. on the first Monday, and for their second at 6 p.m. on the third Monday.

There will be two exceptions due to holidays. The commissioners will meet only once in January, at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21. They have a canceled their first meeting of the month, and will not meet on the third Monday due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

While there is no public commissioners meeting in the first week of January, they will meet in executive session at 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 6.

The Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 1 will also delay the first September meeting to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

The Putnam County Council will meet on its prescribed day and time with no exceptions, 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month.

All of these meetings take place in the Commissioners Courtroom on the first floor of the Putnam County Courthouse.

Additionally, the Putnam County Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) and Putnam County Plan Commission will stick to their scheduled meeting dates and times.

The BZA meets at 7 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in the Commissioners Courtroom, except the October meeting, which will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

The Plan Commission meets at 6 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month in the Commissioners Courtroom.
