Charlotte Anita Kyle, 89, of Brazil, accepted the final call and departed this life on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013 at 2:36 a.m. at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.

She was born May 10, 1925 in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of Walter J. Baynard Sr. and Adah (Masterson) Baynard.

She graduated from Greencastle High School.

On Jan. 1, 1943 she married Francis G. Kyle Sr. He preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 2002.

Mrs. Kyle was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Brazil. She also was a part of the Needlework Club in Greencastle; the Thrifty Ladies Home Ec Club of Terre Haute and she was one of the founding members of the Clay County Food Pantry.

She was affectionately known as "Momma K" to her family and friends. Charlotte enjoyed cooking and caring for her family.

She was a Girl Scout and helped her daughter--in-law with her Girl Scout Leader duties.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Walter Baynard and Lloyd Baynard; granddaughters Amy L. Kyle and Annette Kyle; and her husband.

She is survived by her sons: Francis G. Kyle Jr. (Roberta) and Rodney Kyle; grandchildren, Anita Williams (Larry), Anitra Young, LaToya Sanders (Gary), Francis G. Kyle III, Rodney D. Kyle II and Derrick Wickware; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren: Chrischelle Brown, Terry Johnson, Anna Smith; four step-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, at French Funeral Home, Brazil, with Rev. Johnnie White officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
