Ivy Tech Business and Entrepreneurial Services Center (BES Center) located on Ivy Tech's Greencastle campus has announced the start of the spring "Opportunity Knocks" seminar series on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

The seminars have been scheduled by Ivy Tech in partnership with the West Central Indiana Small Business Development Corporation (ISBDC) and the Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce.

The suite of seminars was created to develop and enhance the business skills of individuals who are interested in starting a business, formalizing a business plan or developing a growth plan for an existing business.

Each seminar is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on one Wednesday each month from January through June. The cost is $25 per seminar.

"The now, six-part seminar series is designed specifically for entrepreneurs, giving them the tools they need to start or expand their business," Melanie Boesen, vice chancellor/executive dean at Ivy Tech Community College in Greencastle, said.

"We expanded the four-part series to include three seminars on marketing," said Heather Strohm, regional director of WC-ISBDC. "Having a solid marketing plan is critical for a successful business. We want to give participants the tools they need to be competitive with new and trending business practices."

Persons may contact the BES Center by calling 653-7410 x5031 with questions and to register.
