Banner Graphic: What is your favorite sport to participate in? Why?
Madi Asbell: Basketball is definitely my favorite sport. I enjoy volleyball and softball also, but basketball has always just meant something more to me.

BG: What has been the biggest lesson you have learned from playing sports?
MA: I have always been competitive when playing sports but this year is special to me because it is my last year playing. This year I have learned to be patient and positive when playing on teams that are not always successful. I also learned that you just have to have fun and enjoy being able to play sports.

BG: What has been your fondest memory of participating in sports?
MA: The best time I have had in sports was when my sister and I were both on the varsity basketball, softball and volleyball team together. I loved playing with her and being able to share those memories with her.

BG: What impact have your teammates had on you this year?
MA: This year's season has been a little rough at times but my teammates are who make me want to keep trying. I have played basketball with Bethany Wiatt since fourth grade and she is always there for me, we try to feed off of each other and if one of us is down we try and pick each other back up.

BG: Who has the biggest influence on you in your sports career?
MA: My biggest influence was my dad when I was younger; he put me on a Hoosier Girls Basketball Team. We were not that good but I learned so much by playing against girls who were better than me. As soon as I came into high school, Mr. Jim Brothers took over my basketball career and he has always had my back since then.

BG: What are your plans after high school?
MA: I plan to attend Indiana University and I have thought about majoring in pharmaceutical sciences or nutrition science but I am still undecided.
