Learn about youth and family resources in Putnam County

Sunday, January 26, 2014

The Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) will host a panel discussion for those who work with children to learn more about the available resources for youth and families in Putnam and surrounding counties.

In an effort to help youth workers better serve children, the forum will provide an overview of some of the services and facilities available in the community and give insight on how to access and utilize those resources.

The forum will feature a panel discussion with five local experts, Cari Cox, executive director at Family Support Services; Lisa Bishop, wraparound facilitator at Cummins Behavioral Health; Holly McFadden, Region 9 program director at the Children's Bureau; Ruth Ralph, executive director at Johnson Nichols Health Clinic, and Linda Merkel, Putnam County Youth Development Commission executive director.

The forum is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at Mill Pond Health Campus, 1014 Mill Pond Lane, Greencastle.

As part of IYI's Youth Worker Café program, lunch is free and food will be served, but reservations are required by Feb. 3.

Mill Pond Health Campus is providing food. RSVP at www.iyi.org/YWC. Reservations may also be made by contacting IYI Statewide Outreach Manager Debbie Jones at (317) 396-2723 or via email at djones@iyi.org.

Youth Worker Cafés are designed to bring together local youth workers to build relationships and inspire collaborations that will benefit kids.

This Youth Worker Café is made possible by the collaborative efforts of Children's Bureau Inc., United Way of Putnam County, Putnam County Youth Development Commission, Putnam County Family Support Services, Mental Health America and IYI.
