Brenda C. Erwin, 91, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014.

She was born on June 11, 1922 in Calloway County, Ky., to Dewey Cooper and Vye Grogan Cooper.

Mrs. Erwin was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where she received her bachelor's degree and master's degree, both in education.

She was a member of Lexington First United Methodist Church, and taught for 20 years in the Lexington - Fayette County Kentucky Public School System.

After retirement, she moved to Gainesville, Fla., where she attended First United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Gainesville Women's Club.

In 2003 Mrs. Erwin relocated to Greencastle where she attended Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, and had been a member of the Century Club.

Mrs. Erwin was a long-time member of the Kentucky Education Association.

Mrs. Erwin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carlos C. Erwin; a daughter Paula Kinton; and a grandson, Brett Kinton.

Surviving are her daughter, Brenda E. Fuller of Greencastle; six grandchildren, Matthew Fuller and wife Heather, Andrew Fuller and wife Lisa, Jonathan Fuller, Brian Kinton and Anne Kinton; and six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Josef, Elizabeth, Robert, James and Sarah.

The family will receive friends form 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, followed by a service at 7 p.m. with Rev. Dr. P.T. Wilson officiating.

Services will be on Saturday, Feb. 8 in Lexington, Ky., with interment at Lexington Cemetery.
