BAINBRIDGE --- Indiana State Police detectives from the Putnamville Post Friday arrested a rural Bainbridge man in connection with various reported sex crimes involving a teenage Hendricks County girl.

William J. Brewer Jr., 23, is being charged with three felony counts, child solicitation, vicarious sexual gratification and sexual misconduct with a minor.

Brewer was incarcerated in the Putnam County Jail at 10 a.m. Friday, held on $2,500 bond.

The case began to unfold on Jan. 27 when the Putnam County Department of Child Services contacted the Putnamville Post requesting assistance with a possible sexual vio-lations case.

The 15-year-old victim had confided in her mother about an alleged sexual relationship with a 23-year-old co-worker that occurred on or around Jan. 24 and 25.

The alleged victim was reportedly befriended by Brewer at their Hendricks County place of employment, and beginning on Dec. 31 and ending on Jan. 26 the two exchanged text messages about dating and sexual relations, Putnamville detectives advised.

On or around Jan. 24-25, Brewer is alleged to have had various sexual encounters with the victim in his car and at his rural Putnam County home.

The case was investigated by ISP Detectives First Sgt. Jeff Hearon and Sam Stearley.

Assisting in the investigation were ISP Cyber Crimes Det. Chris Carter, ISP Crime Scene Investigator Sgt. Jim Cody, the Putnam County Prosecutor's Office, Putnam County Department of Child Services and Susie's Place Child Advocacy Center in Avon.
