Cloverdale residents must purchase 2014 dog tags

Thursday, February 13, 2014

Following several months of discussion, the Town of Cloverdale recently passed Ordinance 2010-10 Dog Tax in accordance with Cloverdale Town Code Section 6-26.

Under this ordinance, all owners are required to purchase a dog tag for $5 for all animals over six months of age. This tax must be paid annually. Tags for 2014 are now available and can be purchased at the clerk-treasurers office.

It is the owner's responsibly to control and retain their animals. The town reminds residents that any animal that runs at large, attacks other animals, molests a passerby or passing vehicle, barks, whines or howls in an excessive continuous or untimely fashion, damages private property or trespasses on school grounds is considered to be a public nuisance.

For more information on the ordinance or to purchase a tag visit the Town Hall at 154 S. Main St.

  • Okay....what is the penalty for being a "Public Nuisance"?
