Creek advised Sgt. Jon Chadd that as she entered a curve her vehicle began to slide on the ice, which caused her 2012 Chevrolet to leave the roadway on the north side and roll onto the passenger side.

Operation Life assisted at the scene.

* At 9:58 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, Timothy B. Durham, 38, Indianapolis, was westbound on Interstate 70 near the 49-mile marker when he lost control of his 2004 Honda CR-V due to the icy roadway.

* At 12:31 p.m. on Friday, Marlene A. Masten, 79, Greencastle, was westbound on County Road 125 South.

Masten advised Deputy Matt Biggs that while she was traveling up the hill she began to lose traction and began to fishtail and was unable to gain control of the vehicle and struck the vehicle of Matthew A. Montgomery, 33, Brazil, with the rear of her car.

Montgomery advised Biggs that he was eastbound on County Road 125 South in a 2002 Ford F150 when he observed Masten's 2003 Lincoln Town Car losing control and moved over toward the shoulder of the road to avoid a collision, but could not.

At 12:37 p.m., William H. Jeffers III, 31, Jasonville, was westbound on U.S. 40 near Putnamville when a semi with double trailers passed him at a high rate of speed.

Jeffers advised Deputy Mike Downing that due to the speed and road conditions the rear trailer swerved into his lane, hitting the driver's side mirror of his 2002 Ford Econoline E450 and continued westbound on U.S. 40.

Jeffers then pulled to the side of the road to wait for assistance.

* At 12:37 p.m., Jacob L. Cope, 20, Greencastle, was eastbound, in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, on U.S. 40 near County Road 800 East when a semi passed him that created a white-out condition.

Cope advised Downing that he was unable to see Jacqueline L. Grady, 56, Terre Haute, in front of him. Cope also noted that it appeared that Grady had slowed down as well as he swerved to the left to avoid hitting Grady's 2005 Chevrolet Uplander.

However, due to the road conditions he was unable to avoid a collision and hit the rear of Grady's vehicle causing her to lose control and slide out into the median.

Grady advised Downing that the same semi passed her causing white-out conditions before she was struck from behind by Cope, which caused her to lose control.

Cope was able to pull Grady out of the median and both vehicles and all occupants were able to leave the scene.
