Tiger Cub JV falls to Knights

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

BRAZIL -- The Greencastle boy's JV basketball team traveled to Brazil Tuesday and came up on the short end of a 28-23 score.

Points were hard to come by for both teams, as aggressive defense was the order of the day. Greencastle seemed to solve the Knights' defense first, leading at the end of one quarter, 7-5, and half, 14-11.

Coming out of the break, Greencastle seemed to leave its shooting eye in the locker room and a Northview 3-pointer at the buzzer knotted the score at 20 going into the final six minutes.

Greencastle could only muster 3 points in the final quarter while giving up 8.

Neither team shot the ball well ,and Greencastle was a dismal 8 of 46 from the field for 17.4 percent. Coach Doug Hudson was, however, extremely pleased with the overall effort of the team.

Noah Cook led all scorers with 11 points and Drew Lumsdon led the Knights with seven.

Greencastle (8-7, 4-1 WCC) wraps up the home portion of its season with a game versus Southmont this Friday in McAnally Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
