Putnam SWCD sets annual fundraiser event for March 8

Sunday, February 23, 2014

Putnam County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) will host its third annual fundraiser on Saturday, March 8 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds from 6-9 p.m.

The evening will begin with doors opening at 5:30 for a preview of silent auction items. Some of the items donated include jewelry from Mason Jewelers, box seat tickets for an Indianapolis Indians game and a chef-prepared dinner in your home, along with many more items.

A live auction is also set for the grand donation of a full-size quilt. The design is "Boston Stars" in patterns and solids shades of blues and reds.

Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. with More the Merrier will be the caterer.

One Size Fits All comedy troupe will be providing a night of competitive improv humor of two teams flexing their comedic muscles for laughs and points as they make up scenes, games and songs right on the spot, based on audience suggestions.

The audience can sit back and enjoy the fun or, of course, should you like to try to flex your comedic muscle or just like the limelight that can be arranged.

All the fun is for a good cause, enabling the SWCD to continue to provide programs and education on conservation to Putnam County audiences.

Time is growing short so persons are urged to contact the SWCD office at 653-5716 x3 to reserve tickets. Ticket prices are $25 per ticket, $48 per couple or $180 per tables of eight. The office is unable to process credit cards but will accept checks or cash. Tickets can be held at the door for individuals who have called and made payment (as a courtesy due to all of the inclement weather this year; however, they must be paid for in advance).

The SWCD will take reservations for the dinner and show until March 5. After that date, tickets may still be purchased for just the show until 4 p.m. on March 7.
