Joseph C. 'Joe' Allee Sr.

Joseph C. "Joe" Allee Sr., age 52, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014.

Born May 2, 1961 in Greencastle, he was the son of James J. and Mary Rose (Query) Allee and a graduate of Greencastle High School, Class of 1980.

Joe married Penny J. (Evens) Allee on June 1, 1980, and have enjoyed 34 years together.

Joe has worked at the Great Dane plant in Brazil for over 30 years.

He loved being with his family, working, drinking coffee with family and friends and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Penny; children, James (Rachael) Allee, Jennifer (Dallas) Strother, and Joe (Cassie) Allee; his father, James Allee; brother, John F. Allee; sister, Sarah (David) Pierce; four grandchildren, Mary, Ryan, Dakota and Cale; two grand dogs, Gussie and Walter; a special adoptive daughter, Tabby (Brian) Hay at Great Dane; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, James J. "Jack" Allee II; and a sister, Alice Allee.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4 at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Elder James J. Allee officiating. Interment will follow at the Deer Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. on Monday, March 3 at the funeral home.
