Hoosier adventurer to share his story Tuesday at PCPL

Thursday, February 27, 2014

The Putnam County Public Library will host adventurer Bryan Brown on Tuesday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m.

Brown, a 57-year-old Hoosier native, will present "100 Days on the Mighty Colorado," which recounts his solo trip on kayak down the Colorado River.

An experienced outdoor traveler, Brown has hiked the Appalachian Trail, completed a solo, transcontinental bike ride and has climbed nearly 40 peaks of 14,000 feet in elevation.

His trip down the Colorado River makes Brown the "first person to make a continuous descent of the entire primary watershed with the season, with the current, and with a paddle."

The trip cost Brown four lost toenails, two lost fingernails, a broken rib and tendinitis in his left forearm, but it left him with a story to tell.

The public is invited to hear Brown's story on Tuesday at the library. The event is free and open to the public.
