Putnam County Swim Team seeking more swimmers

Sunday, March 2, 2014

The Putnam County Swim Team, formerly Greencastle Summer Swim, is a competitive, year-round USA Swimming program that started in August 2013.

Known as the Griffins, PCST is looking for more members for the upcoming spring session, which begins April 14. The session will also include stroke improvement for those who can swim any stroke independently for at least 10 yards.

Coaches Kent Menzel and Catharine Simmerman, are dedicated to swimmers' development and to running a fun, team-oriented swim club.

Anyone interested in learning more is invited to an informational parent meeting at the Greencastle High School McAnally Center, Parker Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18.

The meeting will be a chance to meet the coaches, the members of the parent-governed board and a representative from Indiana Swimming, as well as learning how to join.

For more information, contact Annette Maier at 719-0540.
