Six Tigers net All-NCAC honors

After winning its third straight North Coast Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships the DePauw women's basketball team had six student-athletes named to the All-NCAC teams.

Senior forward Alex Gasaway (Crawfordsville, Ind./Crawfordsville) and junior guard Savannah Trees (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) were named to the first team, while senior guard Ali Ross (Lexington, Ky./Lafayette) was a second team choice and senior forward Alison Stephens (Prairie Village, Kan./Shawnee Mission East), junior guard Hannah Douglas (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) and junior guard Emma Ondik (Naperville, Ill./Central) earned honorable mention.

Gasaway is the Tigers' second-leading scorer, averaging 12.1 points per game, while shooting 47.8 percent from the floor. She ranks second on the team with 5.8 rebounds per game and is tied for the team lead in steals with 36.

She is just the second women's player in DePauw history with 1,100 points and 600 rebounds. Earlier this season she was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Division III Women's Basketball Third Team and was a D3hoops.com First Team Preseason All-America choice.

Junior Savannah Trees - 1st Team All-NCAC (Banner Graphic/TRENT SCOTT)

Trees leads the Tigers in scoring, averaging 14.1 points per game while shooting 48.6 percent from the floor. She currently ranks sixth in Division III with 89.8 percent free throw shooting.

Her 89.6 career free throw percentage is currently the best in DePauw history.

Senior Ali Ross - 2nd Team All-NCAC (Banner Graphic/TRENT SCOTT)

Ross is averaging 9.4 points per game, while grabbing 2.4 rebounds per game and dishing out 2.0 assist per game. She is tied for the team lead in steals with 36, and earlier this season became the 15th DePauw women's basketball player to reach 1,000 career points.

Senior Alison Stephens - Honorable Mention All-NCAC (Banner Graphic/JARED JERNAGAN)

Stephens leads the Tigers' with 8.8 rebounds per game, while averaging 7.3 points per game on 50.0 shooting from the floor. She has posted 12 double-figure rebounding games this year including 11 in the last 20 games.

Junior Hannah Douglas - Honorable Mention All-NCAC (Banner Graphic/GRANT WIEMAN)

Douglas ranks fifth on the team, averaging 9.0 points per game, while grabbing 2.2 rebounds per game and 2.0 assists. She has scored in double figures in 10 of her last 14 games.

Junior Emma Ondik - Honorable Mention All-NCAC (Banner Graphic/JARED JERNAGAN)

Ondik averages 9.9 points per game for the Tigers, while shooting 48.1 percent from the floor adding a team leading 2.5 assists per game. She currently leads Division III with 48.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc this season.

With Saturday's 69-41 win over Denison in the NCAC Tournamnet championship game, DePauw earned its 11th straight trip to the NCAA Championship and will host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the first round on Friday.
